Diversified Plastics exceeds goal for community food drive

Minneapolis, MINN–April 2, 2009–Food and cash donations totaling 677 pounds were collected by Diversified Plastics, Inc. during their annual Bonnie Schultz Memorial Food Drive. This yearʼs target goal of 500 pounds was exceeded when company employees donated 525 pounds. The North Hennepin County Chamber of Commerce membership raised the total amount by donating an additional 152 pounds of food and cash.

The donations were given to the Community Emergency Assistance Program (CEAP). The CEAP is a community-based, non-profit agency that reaches out and assists people in need. Over half of the people they serve are children. “We need to work together as a community, even in these tough economic times,” said Annette Lund, vice president at Diversified Plastics. “And, I’m proud of what our employees and local Chamber have accomplished.” To learn more about CEAP, visit them online at www.ceap.com.

The food drive was created in honor of Bonnie Schultz, a Diversified Plastics employee who selflessly gave to the less fortunate in her community. Bonnie passed away in February of 2007, but her passion to help others continues through this memorial food drive.
