1000 pounds of food donated, exceeds goal

Minneapolis, MINN–April 18, 2011–Diversified Plastics, Inc. has collected 1,000 pounds of food and money for their annual Bonnie Schultz Memorial Food Drive during the month-long event in March. “We are very excited that our target goal of 15 pounds per person was exceeded by our employees who gave an average of 20 pounds each,” said Annette Lund, vice president of Diversified Plastics. “We accepted nonperishable food and monetary donations with every dollar donated counted as one pound of food towards our goal.”

This food drive, now in its fourth year, was created in honor of Bonnie Schultz, a Diversified Plastics employee who selflessly gave to the less fortunate in her community. Bonnie passed away in February of 2007, but her passion to help others continues through this food drive. “The level of giving by our employees is inspiring and it’s a wonderful memorial to our friend Bonnie and an opportunity to give back to the community, helping those in need,” added Lund.
